What to Expect

Enjoy an amazing 2-day adventure cruising Halong Bay on a beautiful wooden Phoenix Cruise junk boat. Get spectacular views, kayak to fishing villages, and enjoy amazing food, with a cooking class and demonstration at the end of your tour.

Named a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the scenery is spectacular and the atmosphere electric. Your transport will be a 4-star junk boat, a beautiful replica of the ones developed during the Han Dynasty of China between 206 BC and 220AD, and now iconic symbols of Southeast Asian watercraft.

Day 1: Hanoi – Halong Bay
Depart Hanoi at around 08:00-8:30 for the 3.5-hour drive by minibus to Halong Bay. Enjoy the journey through rich farmlands of the Red River Delta and see rice fields, water buffalo, and everyday Vietnamese village life pass by.

Just after midday, embark on the Halong Phoenix Cruiser. You will be welcomed with drinks as you get a route briefing, and before checking in to your cabin. Enjoy a delicious seafood lunch while the junk boat slowly sails through the amazing limestone seascape.

In the afternoon, you will visit Sung Sot Cave, one of the most amazing caves in Halong Bay. The two chambers that form the grotto are decorated with thousands of spectacular stalactite and stalagmite formations.

Kayak around a fishing village, and return to the vessel for some time at leisure. A fresh fruit platter will be served on the sundeck as you cruise to your anchor spot for the night.

Enjoy a seafood set-dinner followed by evening activities that can include movies, board games, and karaoke sessions, or – for the more adventurous – a night fishing excursion.

Day 2: Halong Bay – Hanoi
Watch a beautiful sunrise from your cabin, or get up early for a swim in the bay. After a breakfast with complimentary tea and coffee, visit the impressive Cave of Halong Bay – Surprising Cave (Sửng Sốt) with your tour guide, a truly awesome and amazing cave to experience.

Back on board the Phoenix Cruiser, check out and settle your bill. Experience more views of Halong Bay such as Fighting Cocks Island (Symbol of Halong Bay), Incense Burner and Stone Dogs Islands. Discover the mystic recipes of Vietnamese cuisine during a cooking class on the sundeck. The junk boat will cruise leisurely back to harbor. Enjoy an early lunch on board, before you disembark and transfer back to Hanoi. You will be back in the city for the end of the tour at approximately 17:00.
